How I Choose My Costume to a Fancy Dress Party
The fancy dress that I chose for the party was a simple one. I chose a clown as the costume. I did not buy the fancy dress costume from any stores or internet shops. Instead, I make the fancy dress on my own as it will be much cheaper. Before deciding to make the costume on my own, I look for the proper outfit from the internet. However, after calculating my budget for the costume and the prices of the fancy dress after delivery, I felt that it is better to make the costume on my own since I will only be wearing it once. Initially, I was not sure about the style and design that I would love to make for my fancy dress. After all, it will be the first costume that I will be wearing for costume party. However, as I look through the internet, I have the idea of making a clown costume that looks dark and evil in ways similar to Batman's villain, the Joker. The process of making the fancy dress was a lot of work and I need the assistance of my parents to help me with it. Luckily, they were being supportive. As I make the costume on my own, I have quite a large sum of money remaining from the budget that I set. Hence, I decide to buy some additional accessories. I decided to buy a purple colour wig for myself as it suits my costume, which is dark purple in colour. On the actual day of the party, I was not sure if I would want to wear a mask to go along for the party. My mother advised me not to wear a mask to go for the party since oily food and drinks would be served. This could be inconvenient especially if I was careless while eating as it could easily dirtied the mask. I took my mom's advice as I felt she was right about that. Instead, I looked through the internet for ideas to replace the mask. Eventually, I put on make up that made my face looked like it was burned and my mouth was so huge that it resemble a clown's mouth. I thought the make up was fantastic as it made my clown costume looked horrifying and scary enough. My costume was not the best and most attractive on that night but I definitely had a lot of fun during the fancy dress party. I managed to enjoy myself feeling comfortable with the costume that I wear as well.
