Lampwork: Glass bead supplies?
I recently started making glass beads. In about one hour I will be picking up most of the supplies needed are. Here is a list of supplies will I shop for today. If anyone can recommend or advise against the purchase of certain types or brands that would be great. I appreciate any advice. -Torch (1400 F)-Fuel (Must be mixed with oxygen): propane, natural gas, (or MAPP gas, it need not be mixed with oxygen)-Striker (for the torch)-thorns (I believe that the glass rods-Beadrake, Marver plates (what's the difference?)-Flashlight Clamp Bead-release (what kind of paint is this?)-Fiber Blanket (for cool the grain down in. What is it made?)-Small-large work table, square, metal plate for the table-bar (for making stringers)
You must to ask an expert bead maker. Ask Pam East. If anyone knows - She sure does! I make a simple lampwork bead by mixing glass frit (crushed marble) and fusing them to with 20 gauge copper wire. I use my torch. Keep Arting! Jeff (weseye) Wesley
