what does hacked on a company page mean?

I was looking at a vendor who sells loose gemstones and beads and the side bar says hacked with a name next to it. What does that mean? There's an arrow flashing pointing downward to the search box that's green and orange.
I would provide the link, but I don't know if that would be allowed or not.
okay, well the first website had nothing, but the 2nd one you posted had this on it:

Does that mean I'll get a virus cause I clicked on it? Dx I clicked on the part that flashed hacked, too by mistake but nothing happened.
Uh, well, I did do a virus scan because I got a vulnerability blocked pop up from Norton. But I don't have a Windows, I have a Mac.
When I first looked at the website, it looked like they had stopped in the middle of setting it up because they were busy at trade shows. I don't think they know their page was hacked. =/

In the context of your question, it would be allowable to post a link. Just don't put http:// in front of it and give people clear warning on either side of the link so not-alert-enough people don't go there. Long "words" get shortened here at Yahoo and some characters replaced with ... so if it's too long to show, just put spaces in here and there and mention that.

I was trying to set up a web site which meant I was at the host's site reading help info and some idiots hacked them and changed the page to show who they were that got through. The host was reputable but evidently some part of their site was vulnerable.

The fact that MacAfee speaks against it rings loud warning bells to me. I find that the first link and user comments at MacAfee warn when MacAfee itself doesn't.

It sounds like a site to stay away from. Hopefully nothing has happened to your computer (your security software may have protected your computer) but make sure all your security software is up to date and if you don't have it, get Malwarebytes and install/run it, just to be on the safe side. Also, if you don't do your Windows updates, do so. They make it a lot harder for viruses to get hold of your computer, although updating doesn't normally help with getting rid of infection.
